Arsenal Fans, In Wenger, You Should Trust

Fans of the North London side, Arsenal are unhappy about the lack of activities in the transfer market but could Arsene Wenger be right to be confident in his squad?

Boos rang at the away end of the King Power Stadium this past weekend. Wenger had been let down again. The longest serving and most successful manager in the club’s history disappointed. The invisible season forgotten, the consistent top place finishes all gone down memory’s drain. The shiny Emirates Stadium doesn’t matter so much now. Neither does the beautiful brand of football the gooners pride themselves in.

2 weeks gone into the news season and #WengerOut is already gaining traction. Performances from the 2 fixtures played have been a mixed bag. Cue supporters raising questions about inactivity in the market, just like they have in years gone by.

"My manager is Wenger. I brag different." Arsenal fans need to calm down over their manager's choices.

The problem here is fans and media alike have been deceived into believing the game of football is won in the 3-month transfer window rather than the 9-month long season. Thus, the call for big money signings is louder than it has ever been. Pathetic…

The Arsenal squad is probably in its most stable state in recent years. The supposed inept defense conceded the same number of goals as the “staunch” Leicester city defense. Petr Cech won the golden glove but all of a sudden the call for a defender is deafening.

Everyone seem to have forgotten that Wenger has brought in the hugely talented Rob Holding. He looked assuring against one of the most coveted strikers in the Premiership Jamie Vardy. Arsenal have 5 senior defenders and can only get better when injured captain, Per Mertesacker returns.

In the middle of the park, Granit Xhaka came in a lumpy £35m swoop with loads of Champions League and international experience. A midfield of Xhaka, Francois Coquelin, Mohammed Elneny, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla is as good as it gets. Do not let the big money arrivals at rival clubs fool you.

The only minor worry is that lack of a capable deputy to Oliver Giroud. However, an in-form Theo Walcott can step in and do a great job with Danny Welbeck still to come. Also, the chemistry and understanding amongst the 3 core attacking players Mesut Ozil, Giroud and Alexis Sanchez can only get better.

Back at it again. Wenger still possesses one of the world's biggest midfielders in Ozil.

Over the past 3 years, there have been improvements, with the team finishing 4th, 3rd and 2nd respectively.

It’s understandable that supporters aren’t satisfied standing still for the past decade. Arsene Wenger is aware of the fact anything short of a serious title challenge is failure. He he believes he has a squad to execute that. A squad that came closer last year than at any point in the past 10 years.

Arsenal are not in a crisis and titles are not decided in the first 2 games. If there’s anyone that desires the title, it’s Wenger. Fans should get behind him. Wisdom is, in Arsene they should trust.
